Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California, United States in the 1970s. There is a connection between neurological processes (neuro-), language (linguistic) and behavioral patterns learned through experience (programming), and that these can be changed to achieve specific goals in life. Sue Evans is a Master Practitioner and Trainer of NLP. and Havening®.
Stress
Not all stress is bad – a lot of the challenges you face give your life meaning. But when the stress outstrips your resources for dealing with it, then it gets unpleasant. Stress is a given, and as long as it doesn’t outstrip your resources for dealing with it, it’s useful. It’s not always easy to resolve the causes, but topping up your resources enables you to take those stresses more comfortably in your stride.
There might be little you can do to reduce the stress itself, but topping up your resources can keep it below that problem threshold. Helping you to take whatever life’s throwing at you more smoothly in your stride, keeping you in control.
What will you notice first, as the stress starts to dissolve?
-
Finding it easier to sleep, waking up with more energy, ready for whatever the day might bring
-
Getting through the challenges, without getting worn out
- Having back the time which you used to spend trying to manage the stress, free for the things you love

Sue’s background is in Engineering. She has over 20 years’ experience of leading major Change programmes. She has delivered multi-million pound savings for global organisations, including Corning, Danone and Lloyds Bank so has experienced plenty of disruptive stresses.
Then a training course changed her direction. She’d gone to learn about communication, and how we think. She discovered that without changing the outside situation, a few targeted thinking tweaks can get completely different results, instantly. And the more she experienced, the more something seemed familiar. It’s Process Engineering for the thinking
Knowing just how to make those few small changes, which make all the difference. Distilling thousands of hours of training, discovery and development, she created FAST Pathways to share these powerful skills even more widely.
She truly believes in every individual’s right to a challenging and fulfilling life, and to every organisation’s right to reap the rewards of building and supporting a capable and motivated workforce.
